The Maryland Quality Initiative (MDQI) Conference

Join us at the MDQI 2026 Conference, February 4–5 in Baltimore, Maryland’s premier forum for transportation, construction, and engineering professionals. Connect with the MDOT CCM Team at our booth to explore current incentive programs and learn about commuting options for Maryland commuters. Our local rideshare partners—Christian Bacon of RideSmart Commuter Solutions and Aniya Smith of iRide—will also be at the conference to discuss local commuter programs.

Webinar: Learn About MDOT's Efforts to Keep the Baltimore Region Moving!

Celebrate Bike Month in Maryland

May is National Bike Month, dedicated to promoting and recognizing options to encourage bicycling for transportation and to promote awareness of the benefits of bicycling and bike safety.
In 2025, Bike to Work Week will be celebrated May 12–18, with Bike to Work Day on Friday, May 16. The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) sponsors and promotes Bike Month and Bike to Work Day events and resources statewide. Check out some of the exciting events:

  • May 7 | Bike & Roll to School Day: This national celebration promotes safe routes to school. See if your school is registered on the national walk, bike and roll to school website.
  • May 8 | MDOT in Motion Webinar: Join MDOT's Office of Active Transportation and Micromobility for a live webinar detailing Bike Month activities, Commuter Choice Maryland opportunities and tips/tricks for traveling in Maryland. Register here.
  • May 12–18 | Bike to Work Week: All week long MDOT is sponsoring events across the State such as group rides and pit stops to promote bike commuting. Find your closest event at Bike to Work Central Maryland and Bike to Work DC.
    • May 13 – MDOT's Secretary's Office will host a morning pit stop and a bike ride from 12–1 at 7801 Corporate Center Drive, Hanover MD.
    • May 16 – State Highway Administration (SHA) Pit Stops at SHA Headquarters (by the cycle track on Center Street at Guilford, Baltimore City, MD) and at SHA Hanover (on the BWI Trail at Mathison Way, Hanover, MD).
