Make Your MD 295 Commute Easier

Do you work at an organization near MD 295 between West Nursery Road and I-95? If so, we want to help make your commute easier! Since the Key Bridge collapse, the corridor has experienced reduced travel reliability and more congestion. Commuter Choice Maryland, a MDOT program, is working to change that by helping employers and commuters along the MD 295 learn about sustainable ways to travel to work.

How You Can Benefit

Did you know switching from a drive alone commute to a more sustainable option such as carpooling, cycling, riding MARC/Light RailLink/Metro SubwayLink, or taking the bus can save you money, time, and reduce stress?

  • Save Money
  • You can save up to 40% on qualified commuting costs (such as transit fares) with pre-tax commuter benefits. Plus, you’ll save money by using less gas!
  • Save Time
  • Maryland ranks second in the nation for longest commutes, with most Marylanders facing a more than 30-minute commute. Choosing an alternative commute option—such as carpooling, cycling, riding MARC/Light RailLink/Metro SubwayLink, or taking the bus— can help you bypass traffic and save time.
  • Reduce Stress
  • Sitting in traffic, navigating construction and detours, and staying aware during a commute can leave you exhausted by the time you arrive to work. But if you weren’t driving, you wouldn’t have to deal with any of that. Think about what you might do with all that extra time not spent driving. Catch up on email. Read a book. Close your eyes and listen to some music or a great podcast. You decide!
