The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is a recipient of Federal Financial Assistance. As a recipient, all business units under MDOT are required to comply with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other federal nondiscrimination laws and authorities. Title VI prohibits agencies receiving federal funds from discriminating against agencies or any groups in the United States on the bases of race, color, or national origin. To that end, MDOT encourages, supports and will monitor its Transportation Business Units, sub-recipients, cities, counties, contractors, and planning agencies receiving federal aid funds. It is MDOT’s intent that the Title VI Program will be implemented in accordance with all federal regulations and supported by our customer driven mission.The program is comprised of the following:
