MDOT TO HOST VIRTUAL COMMUNITY UPDATE ON TRANSIT-ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL AT DORSEY MARC STATION IN HOWARD COUNTY

WHAT:
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) Office of Real Estate and Economic Development, MDOT Maryland Transit Administration and MDOT State Highway Administration, in collaboration with Howard County, will host a community informational update meeting Tuesday, September 21, 2021, regarding transit-oriented development (TOD) on state-owned property at the Dorsey MARC Station, 7000 Deerpath Road, Elkridge. In the coming months, MDOT plans to engage the developer community to seek interest in working with the state on a mixed-use TOD proposal on the developable portion of the approximately 18.1-acre site. The September 21 meeting is a follow-up to a community meeting held in February 2019 and will provide an update and invite community feedback. In consideration of ongoing COVID-19 precautions, the meeting will be held virtually.

WHY:
The public is invited and encouraged to attend the virtual community information meeting to learn more about the Dorsey MARC Station TOD proposal and process.  This event will be hosted by MDOT’s Office of Real Estate and Economic Development, MDOT Maryland Transit Administration, and MDOT State Highway Administration.
