MARYLAND MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATION RECEIVES MULTIPLE AWARDS FROM AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF MOTOR VEHICLE ADMINISTRATORS

Agency Earns International and Regional Awards for Exceptional Service

GLEN BURNIE, MD (October 24, 2024) The American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators (AAMVA) has once again honored the Maryland Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Administration (MVA) with multiple international and regional awards. 

The honor was presented during AAMVA's 2024 Annual International Conference where motor vehicle administrators and law enforcement agencies from the United States and Canada discuss best practices and issues affecting the community. 

“These awards truly highlight some of the great advances taking place at the Maryland MVA." Motor Vehicle Administrator Nizer said. “Many of our accomplishments were made possible by the hard work and dedication of our committed employees. We continue to set the example and raise the benchmark on what it means to do business with a motor vehicle agency." 

The Maryland MVA accepted the following international award: 

  • Publications and Visual Arts, The Road Ahead newsletter. The MVA was honored with this international award for exceptional engagement with MVA employees and for ensuring that everyone feels connected across the state. 
The Maryland MVA was recognized with the following AAMVA Region 1 awards: 

  • Communications Award, Persuasive Writing, for a Highway Safety Summit speech delivered by MVA Administrator Nizer.
  • Communications Award, Publications and Visual Arts, for The Road Ahead newsletter.
  • Communications Award, Special Events, for the Conversations with Chrissy podcast hosted by the Motor Vehicle Administration.
  • Service Award, Community Service Recognition, for its collaboration with The Food Project. Through this vital partnership the MVA provides those in the community with an opportunity to take their law permit test and affords underserved residents with critical services they need such as the issuance of an ID card.
The AAMVA awards honor individuals, teams and organizations who have committed their time and resources to safety initiatives, outstanding customer service, and public affairs and consumer education programs. 

AAMVA was founded in 1933. The association serves motor vehicle and law enforcement agencies throughout North America.
