MDOT addresses environmental sustainability through electronics recycling and purchasing and has received recognition for its efforts. MDOT has received multiple EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) Purchaser Awards from the Global Electronics Council (GEC) for the procurement of sustainable IT products.
MDOT received a Silver Partner Award in 2017 and 2018 from the State Electronics Challenge (SEC) for MDOT's outstanding work in electronics stewardship.
